Vision
Here are my remarks at the 2010 CWA Annual Convention:
"We can be a mighty union, but only if we remember that we are servants first, here to represent our members to the best of our ability... And if we can't do that, then we are failing. That was a lot of work. It was a beautiful piece of work... Let's put that type of work into our members...(Applause)" (pages 37-38, Proceedings and Index of the 72nd Annual Convention, Communication Workers of America).
- spearheaded move back downtown to be closer to members
- created first local website to provide members more information more quickly
- designed and innovated newsletters and new vehicles of communication to better respond to the members' needs
Terez In Action
Some people just sit around convention. Others represent their brothers and sisters and get things done! After I spoke at the 2009 Convention, “The delegates arose and applauded at length” (pages 51-52, Proceedings and Index of the 71st Annual Convention, Communication Workers of America). Experience
- 19 years on Executive Board including terms as President, Vice President, Secretary, Director, and E-Board Member at Large
- negotiated local and regional contracts in Private and Public sector
- won unprecedented wage and pension increases and upgrades
Integrity
- Under my leadership as president (1999-2001), the local's cash and investments grew by over $50,000. The current leadership (2008-2010) has lost over $50,000.
