Introduction

Thank you for visiting my online campaign headquarters. Recently you received campaign materials from other candidates filled with promises and accomplishments we have never seen. Lets get to the straight of it.  My goal is not to maintain the current dysfunctions of our local union but to restore the lost credibility, stop the cronyism, and to restore your faith in your Local.

Enhancements promised in member communication–– personal, print, and online–– never materialized. We no longer have Summerfest or Winterfest. Our scholarship awards have been diminished to where they are barely enough to cover the cost of books.  If you are a dues paying member who has never accessed your local union,  these may have been the only things you received back. With office closings requiring us to make fast decisions that will effect our futures, we found we had to depend upon each for help because we could not depend upon the current local leadership.

Finally what kind of respect will be given to a local that has no presence in the community or the political arena? What kind of confidence can we have when decisions are made an acted upon without ever bringing those decisions to the membership which has the final say? What do we say when our fiduciary officers––the President, Vice President, and Secretary-Treasurer–– use our Defense Fund like a personal bank account? They have failed to get approval for all but one disbursement from the Defense Fund which is a clear violation of our rules. These same fiduciary officers are currently under investigation for multiple charges based on these types of issues. Unions are supposed to fight against injustices, not perpetrate them!  As a long time union activist, I have fought to maintain the basic tenets of unionism.

This fight is personal! We are fighting for our livelihood. We are fighting for the right to care for our families. We are fighting for those who came before us and the sons and daughters who will come after us. We can no longer afford hollow promises, empty pledges, or false prophets!

My pledge to you is simple:

  • I will work hard for you
  • I will provide "members first" representation using all resources at my disposal.
  • I will support in good faith the rules of the local, its members, stewards, and officers.
  • I will remain effective, accessible, and never quit while a member is in need

It has been my honor to serve you in various roles over the years. It is evident that as we face new challenges, we need experienced, dedicated leaders who are committed to fight for you until the job is done. I believe with your continued support I can provide that kind of leadership in the role of President of CWA Local 4309.

Fighting For Your Future!
